Edel James Fine Gael Local Area Rep for Crumlin/Kimmage & Paul Campbell Local Area Rep Drimnagh Ballyfermot have organised a Seminar on Suicide called Breaking Down the Barriers

We will have various speakers there on the night to give there views & experiences surrounding mental health issues. ...

Also we will have details of services available to those that feel they or someone they know needs help.

We have organised this event in an effort to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health issues by encouraging people to talk about the issue.

Also we hope that by holding this event that we can show those that feel they are in need of help that there are options available to them.

ASIST - Upcomming Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training


Below is information in relation to Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - Gateway Members can fill in a form in drop-in and we will send them to the HSE.

Thank you for your email and interest in the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) programme.

Attached please find an application form for the ASIST 2 day training programme. Please complete the application form and return it to this email address training.sdkw@hse.ie .Your email will be acknowledged and we will indicate which training programme you have been allocated to. Closer to the training date we will follow up with an email / letter, as appropriate, to provide further details.

It is essential that you complete all information on the application form or your application could be deemed void.

If for any reason you cannot attend the training we would ask that you advise us as early as possible so that your place can be given to another applicant.

Please note there are conditions attached to application as follows:;

1. Applicants should not have been bereaved in the 6 months preceeding the course.

2. Applications are subject to availability of places - if we cannot facilitate you with the current training schedule we can place your name on a waiting list for future training.

3. Successful applicants will be placed on the next available training course and, although not always possible, we will do our best to match the applicant to their preferred venue and dates as per the application form.

4. It is compulsory that successful applicants attend both days and adhere to strict time schedules for start and finish times.

5. It is strongly recommended that all potential applicants ensure they have sound knowledge of the course they are entering into by accessing infomation on www.nosp.ie / www.livingworks.com.

6. This application form applies if you work / reside in the area of South Dublin, Kildare or Wicklow only. For more information on ASIST training outside this area please refer to www.nosp.ie
